Chairmans notes 26/9/17.

Hi , Thank you to Steve and Andy, on behalf of the club, for your sterling work in promoting the Chase water MBC  at Huddlesford canal festival on Sunday and for the photos reminding us of classic cars from our youth and certain armoured vehicles. They set up and manned the stand which looked good hopefully spreading the name of CMBC and the good work of the RNLI. Well done Chaps. On the theme of festivals i took the good lady and friends to the Chase water Sailing club Beer festival on Saturday evening and it was splendid. Five real ales from the Beowulf brewery at Chase water, Big juggs for the women, of Cocktails, with Ukulele band, doing songs from many decades, providing great entertainment. Chaps you missed a good evening and chance to mingle with our hosts. Sunday 24th Sunny, warm but windy saw a few hard core members at the water Tony with fast patrol boat Phil with RAF tender and 500, Piers with a Zoom and poorly 500, Carl with fast proboat and 500 and Simon with his fast cat …

Huddlesford Heritage Canal gathering 24/9/17

This canal festival is held Bi Annually at Huddlesford, not far from Lichfield, Staff's. The site again was well packed with stalls, an event arena and a car show that surrounded the site on three sides and at points was 4 rows of cars deep. The local canal was packed too with some very well restored and preserved  barges and boats. CMBC had a stand there and it was well attended during the day, hardly a minute went by without somone either just looking, taking pictures of the boats or stopping to ask questions. So much so that I didnt get enough time to venture along the canal towpaths to take photo's of the boats, barely making a half tour of the main field site. One of the issues of only having 2 people on a stand im afraid, you are always kept too busy to get some free time.
So heres some pictures of the day.

Memo from Club Chairman.

Thank you to all the members who turned up to the Monthly meeting. Thanks to Andy for the news letter. Note AGM is now the  3rd Tuesday in October. I know Steve has already put it on blog but we have a few members who need a reminder, same time at Sailing club. Simon was welcomed into the club at the last meeting. Don`t forget to visit Huddlesford canal festival. I can only go Saturday 23rd so give Steve and Andy some support at YOUR stand on Sunday 24th, please, its a good family event. Ill be at Sailing club beer festival/cocktail event Saturday 23rd members and visitors welcome, lets give them some support chaps. Not many have emailed me that they intend to race against Aldridge Sat 30th  9.45-10am at Aldridge sailing club Stubbers Green. 1st race 10.30 prompt, Lipo`s ready as i hear that`s what they will use. Lets give them a sound beating on their home water. For all sailors, the jetty is back along with a bit of weed, unfortunately, so be warned. Good news Terry is on the mend …
