Saturday Sailing 31/8/13.

Well, I finally managed to arrange a bit of "free time" for myself to get to the sailing session this afternoon.
The weather was dry, but the wind was a bit strong at times, enough to temp sail out but determined to catch people out if you were not careful.
The floating harbour now has an addition, complete with its own docking station, and for those sailors with a nervous stomach, a "w/c" too!
There was a number of electric boats too today, including a nice scale "replica boat", actually made by the manufacturers of the full size version........ Fletcher. A nice find Mark, well done !

Many thanks again to Mark for supplying the pictures, Mark did send his apologies for the lack of pictures to post this time round, but here are the ones he kindly sent in.

* Our Club's Sailing regatta is on Saturday 7th September, Several other model boat clubs have been invited and will be attending so it should hopefully be an fun packed and exciting day for all. The event kicks off with a "free Sailing Session" at 10.00am, Clubs are invited to get there a little earlier to get set up.*

Many thanks to Mark for sending in this weeks report and for the photo's of the launching jetty that Mark and Carl have been constructing . "What an afternoon, the wind made it almost impossible to sail but call us brave or fools we decided to give it a go. Just four of us today Carl, Paul, Phil and myself all of us need to do some repairs to our boats, some more serious than others. Paul brought along his new fast electric boat which will soon be on the water, and so along with Pat and his new boat this means that Carl now has some serious competition. Unfortunately did not have chance to take pictures of boats because of the weather as soon as boats were on the water they were almost impossible to sail and they were taken of the water. I believe that the weather is due to improve tomorrow and some members have plans to sail on Sunday. I did take some pics of the jetty you will see that it is now secured with chains and locks and is very steady to walk on, in addition it wi…

Saturday Sailing 10/8/13.

Firstly, I apologise again for my non attendance at the Sailing site, but due to some family illness problems, my attention is needed elsewhere. Many thanks to our club chairman again for taking a camera and supplying the pictures and report.

As you can see in the pics the jetty is now securely fixed in place and attached to two steel poles that have been driven several feet into the bed of the pool.
The jetty has been attached with chains and is very solid to walk on thus making it very easy to launch all types of boats, it will also be easy to adjust to the varying water level of the pool. The steps still need some work but Carl and myself have plans to make these more secure and safer to use. On the whole tough I am pleased to say that all who went today were pleased with the result.

* REMINDER !* Saturday 7th September is Chasewater MBC's Sailing Regatta Day, Located at the Ski Club Centre. If there are any clubs interested in joining us on the day that have not yet responded…
