The Sunday following our monthly meeting being deemed the official club 500 race, was eagerly awaited by the regulars.
T`was a nice bright morning with a light breeze in our faces as is usual.
Terry set out the slightly shortened but familiar M shaped course from the recovery boat with the expert guidance of Tony and me and the members, wiping sleep from their eyes, rolled up for the 1st race at 10.30.
Carl, in his very nice new car arrived and sailed his Samurai and his fast pro boat. Paul having sent an absence note in from his wife was missing from the line up, hope you enjoyed her Birthday weekend away both of you. Vaughan also resting in Norfolk.
Terry on the clock, Piers, Phil, Tony and I lined up in anticipation of the count down and Ed ready to do the scoring again.
Off we went at a fair pace all round safely for the first lap then some boats seemingly  being drawn together mine ended up side down. The rest of the race proving quite clean apart from Terry trying his hardest to hunt down Piers and ram him but failing to catch Piers`s faster boat. The results were 1st Piers 2nd Terry 3rd Tony 4th Phil and me last.
Race 2 being similar in intensity as the 1st i managed a few laps before being turned over then Terry being rolled. All good clean racing and again Piers`s boat being swiped and even rolled 360 deg and continuing on to win results as 1stPiers 2nd Tony 3rd Phil 4th Terry and familiarly me last again.
The 3rd race was won by Piers, equal 2nd Terry and me ( minus lid) neck and neck, 4th Tony and Phil taking a knock from me was last.
The 4th and final race was equally fun but Piers did not start saw some good close racing finally ending Terry 1st me 2nd Phil 3rd and Tony bringing up the rear.
Thanks to Tony for getting the course out and Ed for doing a great job again scoring and finally sailing his Dragon Force.
Another enjoyable morning was had by all even though my Crusader proving a pain to get going.
Don who has a damaged foot after  trying Speedway on his Motorbike sent in a sick note and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
The return race at Aldridge has been mentioned as Saturday 30th Sept can all members wishing to race or support us please let me know asap and ill arrange it.
Start thinking how we can get a few more members to join and a few more to come sailing.
