About the Exhibition

Visitors are guaranteed a packed hall with over 600 models on the club and society displays, demonstrations plus attendance by leading specialist suppliers.

Over 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the show which is now regarded as one of the premier model boat show in the UK.

To date nearly 30 clubs and societies are confirmed to be attending this unique exhibition with some of the finest marine models on show. The prestigious ‘Society Shield’, which is voted for by the clubs and societies themselves, will again be awarded to the best club display in the show.

Show organisers, Meridienne Exhibitions, are delighted that there will be three new clubs participating this year – Barnet Model Boat Club, Kent Model Boat Club and Moorhen Model Boat Club.

A special display this year will celebrate The Cunard cruise line 175th anniversary of its first ship Britannia this year. Britannia first set sail in July 1840 and was the first regularly-scheduled service across the Atlantic. 2015 also marks 100 years since Lusitania sank, torpedoed by Germans, it was, when built in 1907, the largest ship ever built and fastest to cross the Atlantic. Many Cunard models will be on display at the Show to celebrate these anniversaries.

Also this year, the Pool Master, Steve Dean will present “Steve’s Top 10”. This will be a special display of 10 unusual and special models selected by Steve himself from his travels around the country in 2015.

The excellent and varied display of models from early warships to modern power boats and ships is complemented by action on the large boating pool. The Surface Warship Association will again lead a poignant sailing tribute at the poolside during the 2 minutes silence on Remembrance Day.

For younger visitors there will be ‘children’s hour’ at the poolside between 1pm and 2pm over the weekend.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase whatever they need from the vast range of products offered by the comprehensive selection of over 20 specialist suppliers, everything from a single anchor to an entire kit.
