Happy New Year 2013.

Well, yet again, heavy rain prevented our club from sailing on Saturday. We have been very fortunate during the year to be able to sail as much as we did, with few interruptions due to rain, whereas a lot of other model boat clubs have had to cancel a lot more club meetings.

2013 sees a change to our clubs Saturday sailing sessions, this came about from our clubs AGM where it was suggested that being as a lot of members now have many different types of boats that our sailing sessions be "themed" to accommodate this. So rather than everyone turn up with several different boats, each Saturday sailing will be aimed towards this.
So sessions will include a "mixed sailing" for all types of boat. a fast electric sailing session to include some times runs around a set course, a sail n scale session where all sail craft can sail at ease amongst the more sedate scale model boats.
All our current club members have already received issue of the 2013 club calendar so they know well in advance what boats to take on which sailing days, so no excuses for not bringing the right boat please !

Saturday  5th Jan is "MIXED, just to get you all in the swing.

Saturday  12th Jan is FAST.

Saturday 19th is MIXED

Saturday 26th January see's our clubs RNLI   SOS afternoon, where hopefully we can not only encourage ALL our club members Lifeboats out of hibernation but get a few attendees fro other local clubs to come along too. ALL donations collected on the day will go to the RNLI so even if you don't have a model boat, please come along and support the Lifeboats.

I dare say a lot of our club members, including myself AND of course a lot of this web site followers all over the world have been busy building new boats. If you wish to send in pictures of your new builds, PLEASE DO !

I have been busy building an S boat, converting to radio control from an Italeri kit as well as building my very first sail boat, a Thunder Tiger Victoria yacht and to be honest the sail boat is very challenging and taking an age to get right. I am building it using the fantastic "Longbow option parts" that are readily available from a company in Canada. www.okanaganmodelsailboat.org   Contact James over there and he will be only too willing to ship any parts your require. I personally received my order in 11 days, International shipping to the UK,  A lot faster supply than some companies in my own country !
