Just an update for January 2019.
Now the Mince pies and Christmas festivities seem a dim and distant past and the New Year is well and truly happy let me welcome you to Chase Water Model Boat Club 2019, Club 500 races.
We had the first of the season last Sunday 10.30 start, the guys having laid out the course in a strong blustery Westerly wind and choppy water.
There was a good turn out considering the weather and some good clean competitive racing with a few collisions and plenty of hard luck stories. The pecking order was yet to be found so the usual fun banter and boasting was still low, the results of the racing was as follows.
Race 1
Winner Paul, Terry 2nd, Phil 3rd, Simon 4th, Piers Colin & Stuart 5th
Race 2
Winner Piers, Paul 2nd, Colin 3rd, Terry & Stuart 4th, Phil 6th and Simon didn’t start, motor problems cited! As our usual scorer Ed was absent I scored the 1st 2 races then Simon scored the last.
Race 3
Winner Piers, 2nd Terry, 3rd Phil, 4th me 5th Paul, 6th Stuart and Colin 7th
As the weather was deteriorating we decided to pack away just before the drizzle came.
Thank you for all that took part and helped with clearing away, special thanks to Piers with freezing hands collecting the course in.
Simon ran his newly re-motored Virgin Atlantic Challenger which looked and ran great in quite harsh conditions and for the brave Telford two who put a fast electric out in the chop.
A good morning was had by all, it certainly blew the cob webs away and I look forward to the next race Sunday 17th Feb after our club meeting on Tuesday night 12th @ 7.30 prompt
