Sunshine all the way! yet another sunny days sailing at the Chase pool, I bet the resident Ice Cream Van took a hammering today as well! some more new boats at the pool this afternoon too. Someones been busy!
my appologies for the double posting tonight, but Ive been away for the week, on holiday, so your editor needed a break and a recharge on the main battery!
Meanwhile, Many thanks to Mark [CMBC Chairman] for taking the pictures on the last 2 post updates and also for providing the latest of his very own "Captains log".
Hello everyone
By the time this note goes on the website we will be in July, where has the time gone?
I have also been thinking that in August the club will be one year , what a great reason for all of the members to get together poolside and have a sail.
On the subject of the pool I am sure that most of you are aware of the reduced water level, whilst it may not at present be suitable for yachts there are no problems for other craft.
So come on charge your batteries up and get down to the pool.
Recently we have enjoyed some great sailing due to the weather and really calm water so why not make the most of it? It would be nice to see some different boats on the website.
At a recent sailing I asked Carl (one of our fast electric guys) if the first thing he does when he gets home after an afternoons fast sailing was to change his underwear.
To which the reply came back “when I sail I do it commando”.
Maybe this would explain the furrowed brow and the bicycle clips.
The two events the club have recently attended were both very good despite the bad weather.
Steve has contacted the organisers of the Pelsall canal festival to thank them for the invitation , it is hoped that we will be able to attend future events.
At Greensforge sailing club open day we were made to feel really welcome, and I have sent a message thanking them for their hospitality.
We have been invited to attend their annual regatta in September the date is to be confirmed.
Finally for now a reminder that the swapmeet / bring and buy is the 31st July at Huntington community centre.
If you would like to book a table contact Steve Gregory 07785 545624 .
The next meeting at the Turf is the 12th July from 7pm.
If you have any comments get in touch with Steve.
