Memo from Club Chairman.

Thank you to all the members who turned up to the Monthly meeting.
Thanks to Andy for the news letter.
Note AGM is now the  3rd Tuesday in October. I know Steve has already put it on blog but we have a few members who need a reminder, same time at Sailing club.
Simon was welcomed into the club at the last meeting.
Don`t forget to visit Huddlesford canal festival. I can only go Saturday 23rd so give Steve and Andy some support at YOUR stand on Sunday 24th, please, its a good family event.
Ill be at Sailing club beer festival/cocktail event Saturday 23rd members and visitors welcome, lets give them some support chaps.
Not many have emailed me that they intend to race against Aldridge Sat 30th  9.45-10am at Aldridge sailing club Stubbers Green. 1st race 10.30 prompt, Lipo`s ready as i hear that`s what they will use. Lets give them a sound beating on their home water.
For all sailors, the jetty is back along with a bit of weed, unfortunately, so be warned.
Good news Terry is on the mend after his recent opp.
Report on Sundays”official” Club 500 race.
4 races were held with the help of Ed doing the scoring for the first 2 and Mark, looking very tanned, the last 2, thank you both. Also Terry for setting the course and Vaughan for collecting it up.
1st race was a great race as I won. It was, as always, a great deal of fun and without rocket Piers a close race ensued, however there were the usual excuses, crashes and parts becoming detached.
Result 1st me, 2nd Vaughan, equal 3rd Phil & Carl 5th, Terry getting his non finish.
2nd race was equally hotly contested and another close race, however we were all blighted by picking up weed on rudders and pit stops were made to clear it. There were a few collisions and i limped in with no prop.
Result 1st Terry, equal 2nd Phil & me, 4th Vaughan and Carl 5th.
3rd race Carl dropped out leaving a very close race indeed
Result equal 1st Terry, Phil and me with Vaughan 4th
4th and final race was only contested between Terry 1st, me 2nd and Phil 3rd neither Carl nor Vaughan starting.
Don sailed his 2 fast cats, Carl his Samuari and Tony his tug.
Thank you all for taking part and get your batteries charged for 30th.
Last Tuesday evening was a lovely flat calm Ed sailed his dragon force into a bed of weed, Phil sailed his 1 mt yacht, well, Mark used his Huffy which skated over the water quickly, Don ran his smaller fast cat and i ran my 500.
As we had all forgotten our keys so thank you to Don for opening and closing the gates and for Mark and Phil for helping with Tigger.
Last but one, we decided that we would again hold a couple of Tuesday evening sails for boats of all kinds with lights as sunset is around 18.10 on 3rd Tuesday AGM & before 1800 the week after.
Any boat any lights, more the merrier on the last Tuesday evening sails this year.
Lastly don`t forget to let Terry know names and numbers for the Christmas meal at the Turf Carvery 2nd Tuesday in December members, partners, wives, lovers and guests welcome, no dogs. It was a great night last year.
