Chasewater Model Boat Club held their monthly pub meet last night and there were a few members in attendance. Firstly we have to give many thanks to "Doc" for the arrival of the club fleeces, they were handed out to those members in attendance who had placed their orders. An initial supply of the club handbooks were handed over to me and they will be in the post shortly to you. I must add that I am awaiting a second delivery, so not all club members will receive them in the first posting, so kindly be patient with delivery.
A discussion was held concerning our club chairman's idea on a "bring n buy /swap meet" for model boaters. This was agreed it would be a good idea and a selection of local surrounding model clubs will be invited to attend the venue. The venue is yet to be confirmed, along with the date, so please "watch this space" as they say.
The member numbers at the pool was again mentioned as it seems there has been quite a drop in club member attendance and for little reason as far as we can tell. Some members have blamed the canoe hire causing havoc with their own sailing, but as yet, they have been little inconvenience to those continuing to sail at such times as the canoes are out on the water. So I ask again, come and join us, we have ample sailing days and times to fit in with any ones timetable or schedule.
I received an email yesterday from a model boat club in Australia, namely the "St George Model Boat Club" , based in Sydney. We would cordially like to welcome the club and their members to our website and hope they enjoy viewing it and all its regular updates, as I hope our club members will visit their club site too. The site link in on our front page, down on the lower right hand side under "club links" but here it is also: www.stgmbc.org.au
We have a couple of invited club events coming up shortly, the Peslall Canal festival, closely followed by the open day at greensforge, we do have places still available, so if you would like to attend, please contact me to book your spot.
Saturday sailing will take place as usual kicking off around 1.30 - 2pm and Tuesday evening sailing, starts at 5pm. ALL club members welcome to attend.
